Abstract

It  is  important  to  build  student  learning  interactions  to  help  students  easily understand the Catholic religious education learning material taught by religious teachers. One way that teachers can increase learning interactions is through the use of learning video media. The learning video media is prepared by the teacher in an interesting way and is played during class. The aim of this research is to answer the problem of low student interaction and increase student  interaction  using  learning  videos. The research  method  used  by  researchers  is qualitative. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. Data processing techniques through reduction, display, drawing conclusions and triangulation. The research location is at the Balige. The results of this research show that learning that does not use learning video media tends to be boring, while the use of learning video media makes participants interested in learning. Students become  active  in  asking  and  answering  teacher  questions,  willing  to  respond  and  provide opinions related to the video being played. This research found that student interaction using the lecture method was still low, while student interaction using video learning media increased. This improvement was obtained from students easily understanding the learning material, being diligent in school, students diligently asking and responding to questions asked by the teacher.
